Job Overview: Patient Services Supervisor (PSS) oversees daily operations of the Patient Services team. Among daily duties, the Patient Services Supervisor may oversee personnel hiring and training, scheduling staff, execute marking strategies, facilitating new patient intake, and implement long-term programs/ strategies set in place by the Operations Manager and/or Director in a call-center type environment.
Primary Responsibility:• Oversee the development of training materials for the patient services team
• Oversee the quality measures and provide follow-up and coaching as needed
• Develop and maintain workforce model
• Create, coordinate, and facilitate scheduling for all Patient Services team members
• Support operational reporting on daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis
• Manage clinic phone systems (e.g. extensions, prompts, call-waiting)
• Implement onboarding and station set up (e.g. laptop, headsets, etc) for new Patient Services team members
• Serve as a backup to direct reports
• Data entry into the electronic medical system
• Assist with patient questions and act as a resource for handling escalated patient issues
• Other duties and projects as assigned by Operations Manager and/or Director
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
• Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality
• Consulting and influence skills to provide recommendations and follow up with Operations manager
• Knowledge of adult learning principles, practices, procedures, and methodologies
• Familiarity with clinic settings, basic standards of medical care, and medical terminology
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• EMR Experience
• Experience working directly with patients
• Experience mentoring/training staff
Required Education, Experience and Credentials:• Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, Training, Education, Organizational Development, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
• 2 years of clinic experience.
• 2 years of supervisory experience
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship
Additional Position Details: (hours, locations, commute)• Ability to travel up to 15%
• Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
