What You Will Do:
Assist with identifying costs that impair the level of reimbursement and make recommendations to properly account for them.
Assist with preparation of annual patient revenue budget, contractual adjustments, and bad debt reserves.
Develop/implement processes to monitor regulatory changes affecting the system's revenue stream.
Perform analysis to determine impact regulatory changes affecting the system's revenue stream.
Perform analysis to ensure that Valley Health entities are receiving accurate payments from third party vendors, i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, Champus.
Perform other analysis via data mining/scorecards/dashboards and other tools utilizing HBI/HPM as requested.
Prepare/review Medicare and Medicaid cost reports for Valley Health and all hospital subsidiaries.
Provide assistance to third party auditors.
Provide consulting services on reimbursement, fixed assets, budget, tax and other accounting-related issues.
Review Federal and State income tax returns for VH and subsidiaries.
Review Federal Form 5500 for employee benefit programs.
Review/prepare contractual and bad debt allowance computations.
Update cost on a regular basis. Develop time schedule for each entity based on need and materiality.
Work with Medicare/Medicaid intermediaries, consultants and attorneys to resolve discrepancies, appeals, litigation, and audit issues.
What You Will Bring:
Education
Bachelors Accounting required
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years accounting experience.
Five (5) years experience in healthcare finance and accounting required.
Experience in Medicare, Medicaid and other payer reimbursement.
Experience with computerized accounting software, spreadsheet programs and word processing required.
Certification & Licensures
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA preferred
Qualifications
Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, financial analysis.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
