Core Functions:

• Obtains prior authorization for procedures, testing, and DMEs.
• Obtains referrals based on insurance requirements.
• Schedules procedures and testing per provider request and communicates with the patient on a timely basis for all scheduling requirements.
• This position has frequent communications with patients, physicians, staff, and third party payers. The position must work with and understand the concepts of scheduling and be able to prioritize tasks within established guidelines.
• Documents accurately into the EMR all actions, interactions, and authorizations surrounding the insurance process for each patient when scheduling.
• Informs appropriate staff when testing/procedures are authorized and scheduled.

Requirements for this Role:

• 1-2 years' of experience in medical authorizations and referrals
• Experience with working within an EMR
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Familiarity with insurance benefits and referral requirements

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
