VALLEY CLINICS, PC is Hiring a Medical billing specialist Near Corvallis, OR

Job Summary : We are seeking a versatile individual to fulfill a split role as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of our healthcare organization and as a Healthcare Billing Specialist.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the COO while also managing healthcare billing tasks efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities : Administrative Assistant to the COO : Manage the COO's calendar, appointments, and meetings, ensuring efficient scheduling and coordination.

Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents as requested by the COO. Assist in organizing and coordinating meetings, conferences, and special events.

Handle incoming calls and emails, responding or redirecting them as appropriate. Maintain accurate records and files, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality.

Conduct research and compile data for various projects and initiatives. Oversee the smooth functioning of the COOs office, maintaining supplies, equipment, and inventory, handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.

Support in HR tasks and payroll including verifying employee timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring accuracy of payroll records Assist with HR tasks such as maintaining employee files, processing new hire paperwork, and coordinating benefits Healthcare Billing Specialist : Process healthcare billing accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to billing regulations and standards.

Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail, following up on unpaid or rejected claims. Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, coding systems, and reimbursement procedures. Collaborate with internal departments such as finance, medical records, and patient services to ensure accurate billing practices.

Assist in the credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

Collect and organize credentialing documentation, communicate with providers and credentialing agencies and track credentialing status updates.

Qualifications : Administrative Assistant to the COO : Proven experience as an administrative assistant or similar role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and office management software. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Healthcare Billing Specialist : Previous experience in healthcare billing, credentialing, and HR preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing procedures, and coding systems (e.

g., CPT, ICD-10). Familiarity with billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems (AdvancedMD). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Understanding of healthcare compliance regulations and privacy laws (e.

g., HIPAA). Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC) is a plus. Note : This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the split role of Administrative Assistant to the COO and Healthcare Billing Specialist.
