We are currently adding a Middle School/High School Assistant Principal to our Administration Team! If this is what you are called to do, then consider joining us!

Summary - Assists the middle school and high school principals in providing direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of students and educational activities within the school. Plays an integral role in the establishment and maintenance of a school climate that is conducive to learning, including overseeing the enforcement of school rules and regulations and the implementation of disciplinary measures when deemed necessary. Effectively communicates with all stakeholders holding to the mission and vision of the school in coordination with the Executive Administration.

Reports to - Chief School Administrator

Student Development

Mentoring:

  • Implements and monitors Corrective Action Plans (CAP) for students whose academic achievement or behavior fails to meet minimum standards;
  • Collaborates with Program Directors to communicate eligibility requirements and support the academic achievement of student-athletes, performing artists, and those participating in school activities

Discipline:

  • Establish a positive student culture through the development of self-discipline
  • Discuss disciplinary and attendance procedures with staff and students
  • Administers the school's disciplinary procedures
  • Records data about discipline on the school communication system that will “log entry” and other record files
  • Notifies parents and student discipline, answers questions and conducts conferences with parents and students when advisable
  • Administers student behavior contracts
  • Advises the principal of serious discipline cases requiring a parent meeting
  • Assists with revising student handbook as needed

Attendance:

  • Monitors student attendance, counsels students, and confers with parents of chronically tardy or absent students
  • Administers student attendance contracts as necessary

School Administration

General Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the supervision of students during lunch periods, chapels, school, and sports events, including evening events
  • Supervises the morning and afternoon flow of traffic
  • Monitors student parking and resolves any issues
  • Assists with the activities related to the development of student culture
  • Attends the Executive Administration Team meetings
  • Responsible for the daily operation of the campus in the absence of the Principal
  • Assists with the other responsibilities assigned by the Principal or Chief School Administrator

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS at an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree in Educational Leadership preferred
  • Five years of full-time paid, professional educational experience, three of which have been at an administrative level within a middle school or high school, providing leadership or participating in decision-making processes, administering student guidance and discipline, school policy development, or the establishment and implementation of educational goals and objectives

Physical Requirements

This position requires visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
