Job Description Summary:

The Facilities Technician maintains school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of campus facilities. This position works closely with the Director of Facilities, other staff, and leadership to ensure campuses and grounds remain safe, usable and a healthy environment for students, employees, and visitors.

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of campus facilities
• Assist in promoting the safety, health, and comfort of students and employees in school buildings and grounds
• Ensure all facilities activities support and conform to OSHA guidelines and school safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with all members of the school campuses and community
• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
• Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery, as necessary
• Initiate work orders/requests
• Adheres to and honors Valley Christians’ standards, policies, procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Performs other related assigned duties

 Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony, among others
• Faithfully attend and financially support a local church whose beliefs are in agreement with our school
• Agree to uphold Valley Christian’s Statement of Faith as provided in this job posting
• Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license
• Must take OSHA related training as assigned
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
• Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
• Ability to multi-task with organization skills
• Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking at times
• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times using safety measures to do so
• Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching
• Requires climbing and balancing
• Requires safely working indoors and outdoors year-round and in varying temperatures
• Must work in noisy and crowded environments
• Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors
• Must be able to drive a mechanical vehicle when required
• Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places

Compensation: 

Hourly rate is $15 -$18 per hour and is commensurate with education and experience. Employee medical, dental and vision plans, 401K, and additional benefits are included with the position.
