Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Vice President of Operations Near Monessen, PA

POSITION: Vice President of Operations

REPORTS TO: President/CEO

Supervises: Operations and IT

PURPOSE:

Executive overseeing the processes, procedures, and policies in the Credit Union’s Operations Department and Information Technology. Ensure the Credit Union is operating within all federal, state, local laws, and regulations. Provides visible leadership and direction to the credit union’s staff and members. Helps advance the Credit Union towards its strategic goals.

  • Strategic focused with the ability to identify, develop, and execute on products and services that will provide our members with a great experience, and help the organization achieve its goals.
  • A self-starter who stays abreast of industry changes including new products and services.
  • Someone who coaches, mentors, and develops their staff to achieve individual and corporate goals.
  • Focused on the member experience and how it can be improved.
  • Analytical with the ability to review data, trends, and make recommendations as necessary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assumes overall responsibility for the success of the operations department and information technology. Owns the relationship with our CORE and is an expert in its usage.

2. Directly manages a Teller Supervisor and Branch Manager with indirect reporting of eight.

3. Manages the relationship with our 3rd party information technology company and supports staff with any technology-related issues.

4. Maintains a highly trained, highly skilled, motivated staff sufficient to meet operational and information technology demands; ensures service level standards are met or exceeded and the team delivers quality results.

5. Prepares monthly reports including reports to the Board.

6. Investigate and resolve problems that arise in reference to member accounts. Meets with members as needed.

7. Analyze various statistics and the use of technology in all assigned areas and make recommendations for the efficient progress and growth of the credit union.

8. Stays up to date on all operations and IT regulations and ensures the credit union follows them.

9. Works closely with President/CEO, CFO, VP of Lending, Branch Manager, and Teller Supervisor to implement programs which will enhance the growth of the Credit Union.

10. Attends social and community events supporting local organizations.

11. Attend Board of Directors meetings as needed or required.

12. Participate in the strategic planning and management of the Credit Union.

13. Good with change and the use of technology, including Microsoft Office products.

14. Performs other duties as assigned by President/CEO.

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Bank or Credit Union operations
  • Previous management experience required
  • Credit Union and IT experience a plus

LOCATION:

Monessen, PA

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/ descending stairs. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
