Position Description

Valiant Solutions is seeking a Security Data Analyst  to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team! In this role, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer's enterprise executive cybersecurity through dashboard management, continuous monitoring, and generating reports for assessment and authorization programs.

Required Experience

  • Security certification or another foundational industry-standard cybersecurity certification.
  • Proficient in operating major security data sources, including Splunk, Tenable Nessus, and ServiceNow.
  • Possesses programming skills, with a preference for Python.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity domains, frameworks, and emerging threats.
  • Exhibits a high level of work ethics and professionalism.
  • Shows a keen desire to engage in continuous learning.
  • Self-starter with a systemic thinking approach, complemented by strong team collaboration skills.
  • Awareness and understanding of popular cyber-attack tools.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of performing effectively both independently and within a team setting.
  • Highly organized with critical thinking abilities at both the strategic and tactical levels
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our customer's enterprise executive cybersecurity through dashboard management, continuous monitoring, and generating reports for assessment and authorization programs.
  • Develop tailored dataset models, workflows, analytics, and visualization solutions that incorporate customer requirements, enabling advanced cybersecurity data analytics and insights.
  • Gather and analyze security data to identify trends, develop valuable insights that enhance situational awareness, and support informed decision-making.
  • Define and analyze data requirements and specifications to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Utilize scripting tools such as Python for aggregating, maintaining, analyzing, updating, and reporting on security performance metrics and trend data.
  • Read, interpret, modify, and execute Python scripts on Windows for coding purposes and for managing file operations.
  • Prepare, clean, analyze, interpret, and display data using various approaches and business intelligence tools, including Microsoft Power BI, to derive actionable insights.
  • Create data visualizations that highlight critical insights, enabling actionable decisions.
  • Conduct trend analysis and provide strategic recommendations based on your findings.
  • Prepare reports for management that outline trends, patterns, and predictions, aiding in strategic decision-making.
  • Compile final analysis reports for stakeholders, detailing the data analysis process to inform significant decisions based on identified facts and trends.
  • Work within cloud platform to collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, ensuring timely dissemination.
  • Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to support organizational compliance requirements
  • Translate program data into cybersecurity performance dashboards to enhance the client’s ability to visualize and understand FISMA metrics, risk metrics, POA&Ms, and audit findings.
  • Investigate the application of machine learning techniques to develop predictive analytics capabilities, enhancing cybersecurity analytics capabilities.
  • You may provide required support to other programs within the Enterprise Cybersecurity Department as required.
