Ensures the EHS standard practice is defined, implemented, and driven daily through plant management to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations while maintaining company standards.
Lead the organization in developing a continual improvement in the EHS culture at the workplace, starting with basic OSHA training and working through the implementation of an overall EHS methodology such as STOP or other similar behavioral-based systems. This includes office, administrative, material handling, transportation, and all shop floor activities.
Ensure EHS Plant level compliance including a consistent, department-level near-miss reporting system, robust safety committees at all locations, frequent communication, on-site audits, and a robust training, certification, and learning system including a compliance and regulatory tracking program to keep accurate records and ensure advanced warning of training and certification renewals.
Compile and submit ALL regulatory and compliance reports for the site.
Educate, drive, and measure site performance to ensure full compliance with all hazardous material handling, storage, and waste management regulations as a part of daily operations.
Complete Audits and ongoing site visits to constantly identify hazards and evaluate loss loss-producing potential of a given system, operation, or process and implement sustainable and measurable solutions that ensure full compliance of all locations within the region.
Implement a consistent EHS reporting and metrics system and analyze incident and injury/illness data for targeted EHS activities to drive a zero-incident culture.
Audit internal programs to determine their effectiveness and progress to best-in-class standards.
Ensure a process and resources are in place with metrics to conduct routine inspections for emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, hoists, ventilation, eyewash stations, PPE availability, and all other EHS-related activities at the location as necessary to maintain best-in-class EHS procedures.
Ensure consistent reporting, cost analysis scheduling, and manifesting hazardous waste shipments.
Ensure a process and resources are in place to continuously update the SDS library
