Vacca Contracting is a roofing company that deals mostly in custom metal fabrication and installation. We work on all types of roofs, both residential and commercial. The company is responsible for jobs such as historical restorations (Old North Church, John Quincy Adams Barn, etc.) and also are the main roofing contact for many property management companies throughout the city. We are looking for roofers with experience in rubber, slate and copper who are able to troubleshoot and maintain projects independently. Five years of prior roofing experience needed however training will be provided in the field and willingness to learn is the most important quality to possess. Pay will increase based on experience level and performance.
Duties:
- Install, repair, and maintain roofs using various materials such as shingles, tiles, and metal
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific dimensions
- Remove old roofing materials and prepare the roof for installation
- Inspect roofs for damage and identify areas in need of repair or replacement
- Repair or replace damaged or missing shingles, tiles, or other roofing components
- Install or repair flashing to prevent leaks around vents, chimneys, and other roof penetrations
- Apply waterproof coatings or sealants to protect the roof from water damage
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in roofing projects
Requirements:
- Experience working with power tools and hand tools commonly used in roofing projects
- Knowledge of frame carpentry and metal stud framing techniques
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints for roof installations
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work on roofs for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of different roofing materials, techniques, and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Note: Pay based on experience level
