V3 Sports is a nonprofit located in vibrant North Minneapolis, focused on elevating our community through wellness, fitness, and education! Thanks to our amazing partners, donors, and incredible community members, we have been making waves in Minneapolis, serving over a thousand families since 2007.

Our mission at V3 Sports is to elevate our community, and one of our passions is educating our community on how to swim. Every year, an unnecessary number of deaths occur due to drowning. V3 is continuing to develop aquatic programs that help people of all ages learn how to stay afloat in the water.

The V3 Center (Phase One) is almost ready to open its doors to our community! We will provide aquatics and fitness offerings, on-site childcare and a new home for the Boys and Girls Club. Our goal is to begin the Phase Two expansion (adding a 50-meter pool, basketball courts, a track, and more) at the end of 2024 and complete it in 2027.

Wages and Benefits

$16 per hour; This position is not eligible for benefits except for worker’s compensation, unemployment coverage, and accrual of Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave.

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as V3 Sports’ Fitness Attendant provides an opportunity to be responsible for monitoring the daily activity in the V3 Center Fitness areas, ensuring that those areas remain tidy, the equipment is always clean, policies are being followed, and will include the following:

• Actively monitoring the Fitness Floor, Fitness Suite and Multi-Purpose Room 1 (MP1).
• Enforcing all V3 policies and escalating concerns to supporting staff when needed.
• Tracking and recording attendance on the Fitness Floor.
• Maintaining a basic understanding of exercise equipment and offering help to members or guests with equipment questions.
• Documenting incidents and accidents appropriately.
• Cleaning and sanitizing exercise equipment thoroughly throughout the day.
• Cleaning and maintaining storage areas in the Fitness Suite and MP1.
• Inspecting and reporting broken/damaged equipment.
• Using sound judgment to troubleshoot operational issues in the absence of a manager.
• Greeting members and guests, and providing assistance as requested.
• Giving tours when Member Services staff is unavailable.

Who You Are

• You possess the ability to work independently and have an interest in wellness or physical activity.
• You understand the importance of customer service and being professional.
• You have knowledge of and experience with diverse groups of people of all socioeconomic conditions.
• You can demonstrate skills in conflict management.
• Your communication skills are strong, both verbal and written.
• You can maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers and the public.
• You can use good judgment in recognizing the scope of authority.
• You must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
• You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet V3 Sports’ driving record requirements. Please note that if the license was not issued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit.
