VT Industries in Holstein builds Architectural Wood Doors in a highly automated environment. We are seeking Department Leads to work with and lead a team of 25 to 30 employees. $2.00 shift differential offered to 2nd shift. $2.40 shift differential offered for 3rd shift.

Overall Responsibilities:

General leadership skills including employee training, coaching, and leadership, problem solving. Must have great verbal and written communication skills and document actions taken. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Follows and administers SOP’s for your work area
• Makes sure machines are ready to go at start of shift and after breaks
• Does a daily written or verbal handoff with counterpart
• Promotes a safe work environment
• Keeps hour by hour board updated
• Ensures product quality at all times
• Holds daily team meeting at the start of shift in absence of supervisor
• Monitors and initials daily SOP and Standard Work
• Promotes 5S and Lean to the fullest extent
• Is prepared to present Gemba Walk in the supervisor’s absence, can speak before a group
• Conducts daily Standard Work audits with the supervisor
• Fosters an environment for success through safety, quality and performance to standard
• Drives forklift and loads trucks in skilled and safe manner
• Has a mechanical aptitude
• Able to identify bottlenecks
• Able to lift and sort doors by hand and have an understanding of door types
• Able to read door tags
• Completes 5S checklist
• Available for work 8 to 10 hours a day, 5 to 6 days per week
• Observes all safety policies and procedures at all times
• Participates in daily production team meeting
• Works individually or with team members as assigned, maintaining a positive work environment
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
