Role: Sr. Network Engineer

Location: Milwaukee, WI - Hybrid (2 days in the office)

Duration: 8 Months

Interview: MS Teams

Note:

  • Looking for two (2) Network Engineer-III resource.
  • Candidates MUST be current Wisconsin residents. No relocation allowed.
  • This is a hybrid position with 1-2 times a week in office.

Job Description:

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible to provide strategic planning, innovative solutions, and advanced technical knowledge to design, implement and support enterprise voice, video and data services that align with the Company s business and IT objectives. This position will provide hands-on technical leadership and will manage simple and enterprise-wide projects from initiation to completion for the voice, video and data infrastructure, complex engineering environments. The Senior Network Engineer will partner with leaders in other business unit/operational areas to define requirements and develop architecture for scalable and reliable network infrastructure to meet present and future business needs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and enhancements of a global Cisco wired and wireless network that delivers voice, video and data services on corporate production and guest networks. (25%)
  • Coordinates and implements low to high-risk network changes according to ITIL framework, independently to mission critical functional areas while following established designs and configurations already developed. (25%)
  • Assist with developing standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Establish and document standards and procedures for team review. (20%)
  • Perform work outside of normal business hours related but not limited to: on-call incident escalation and off-hours maintenance work. (10%)
  • Perimeter network security Firewalls. (5%)
  • Azure Cloud (15%)

  • Explain and gather information, answer queries, or provide assistance to internal and/or external contacts.
  • Persuade, conform, or recommend course of action with internal and/or external contacts.

  • Maintain a continuing working relationship that can have a significant effect on the success of the organization.

Communication Skills: Select the level of language (ability to read, write and speak needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the job.)

  • Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, reports, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Speak effectively before both internal and/or external groups.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, scientific/technical journals and procedures, government regulations, financial and legal documents.

Top Skills & 3-5 Years of Experience:

  • Cisco Route/Switch
  • Cloud Networking-Azure preferred.
  • Palo Alto Firewall
  • Cisco Wireless

Education, License/Certification:

  • Associates Degree Preferred
  • CCNA or CompTIA N are minimum. CCNP Preferred but not required.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • We need an individual that is very self-driven to find and do the work required to move both our internal and cloud network forward.

Interview Process:

  • Microsoft Teams. The interviewee will have a video, and reliable internet connection, and the ability to screenshare and explain a personal or professional project the interviewee is proud of.
  • We want to see how the interviewee documents and thinks through hard tasks.

Onsite or Remote?

  • Candidates MUST be current Wisconsin residents. No relocation allowed.
  • This is a hybrid position with 1-2 times a week in office.

Work Schedule:

  • Regular and/or frequent on-call availability; nature of work frequently requires irregular, unpredictable, or particularly long hours.

Demands/Deadlines:

  • Intermittent or cyclical work pressures with occasional exposure to high stress work environments.

On-Call Required.

  • Yes- 1 week a month, very limited calls happen. On call will not be paid
