UW Health is Hiring a Medical Assistant, Gyn Oncology Near Madison, WI

Work SchedulePart-time, 80% FTE day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30AM - 5:00PM, no weekends required. External hires may be eligible for up to a $2,400 sign-on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE). Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are home to UW Health | Carbone Cancer Center, Wisconsin's only comprehensive cancer center, as designated by the National Cancer Institute. We work to prevent cancer through risk assessments and research, and we have programs focused on early diagnosis, when cancer is most treatable.
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, LPN) to:

  • Take vitals, note patients' needs and concerns, and assist with clinic procedures and exams.

EducationMinimum - High School Diploma or equivalent and ONE of the following:
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program OR
  • Licensure as an LPN OR
  • Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program OR
  • Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee OR
  • Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated OR
  • One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification
Work ExperiencePreferred - One (1) year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN
Licenses And CertificationsMinimum -
  • Certified as CMA, RMA, or CCMA or eligible for certification. Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date.
  • If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification

Eastpark Medical Center - UW Health's new state-of-the-art ambulatory facility will transform the patient experience and offer cutting-edge proton therapy. This 469,000-square-foot ambulatory facility will house many specialties, including women's complex care, adult cancer care, advanced imaging and laboratory services and innovative clinical trials. It will be located across from East Madison Hospital on Eastpark Dr. and is slated to open in fall 2024.
