Job Summary: The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all floors in our healthcare facility. The Floor Technician performs a variety of cleaning duties to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors, corridors, and common areas on multiple floor types.
• Disinfect and sanitize surfaces, including patient rooms, bathrooms, and waiting areas, using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Clean and sanitize medical equipment and supplies according to established protocols.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling hazardous materials safely.
• Respond promptly to requests for cleaning services and emergencies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare staff to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines and standards to prevent the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to manager and place work order in work order system.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in healthcare facilities.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using floor cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet extractors.
