The Uvalde Housing Authority is accepting applications for the following position:

HOUSING INSPECTOR / SECTION 8 COORDINATOR

Salary - Depending on experience and qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs documents and records initial, special or re-inspections of units for compliance with HQS. Advises owners and residents of results and encourages them to maintain units properly. Conducts all Section 8 briefings including maintaining the Section 8 Waiting

List.

Performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications and knowledge

• High School graduate or GED. Two year’s experience in residential and multi- family building maintenance, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HUD HQS and inspection procedures, and

Authority leased housing operating policies and procedures.

• Good knowledge of basic arithmetic, business English and general office practice and procedures.
• Must complete HUD Housing Quality Standard Training and Receive

Certification.

• Skill in using inspection test equipment or instruments.

Bilingual in English and Spanish
