Job Description:
To provide language assistance by means of verbal interpretations and translations of materials for all medical communications between UTMB's staff and patients, patients' families, and visitors.
Required Education/ Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with two (2) years related experience of written translation experience. Must speak, read, and write English and target language fluently.Ability to translate accurately written materials between English and the target language(s).Possess Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) from NBCMI or CCHI or obtain certification within 2 years from hire date.
Experience in conducting training courses preferred. Formal training, including completion of medical interpreter course and industry certification (CCHI/NBCMI) preferred.
