Position Summary:

As a Pediatric Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), working under the supervision of attending anesthesiologists, you will play a vital role in providing professional nursing services by administering anesthesia primarily to pediatric surgery patients under the age of 18. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of anesthesia to pediatric patients with and without congenital heart disease.

Additional Summary Specific to Job
Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist. (CRNA). A minimum of 6 months of work experience in anesthetizing pediatric patients is desirable. Opportunity to onboarding will be provided.

Current Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse
Current Texas Licensure as APRN
Current American Association of Nurse Anesthetist certification (AANA)
BLS, ACLS and/or other specialty certification as required by department
The incumbent must meet 2 of 6 established requirements:
* Experienced in a major medical center or a major trauma receiving hospital.
* Skilled in administration of varied regional anesthesia techniques, i.e., spinal, epidurals, brachial plexus blocks.
* Skilled in the placement of arterial lines, CVP, and PA lines, and is capable in the use and interpretation of varied pressure monitoring and lab values.
* Active pursuit of continuing education credits.
* Experienced in academics, i.e., has worked with nurse anesthesia students, residents, and medical students.
* Experienced as an R.N. in the critical and acute care areas; is familiar with the use and interpretation of EKG, arterial, central venous and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring; is skilled in respiratory management and blood gas analysis based on therapeutic knowledge.
Minimum Education:
Masters in Nurse Anesthesia
Minimum Experience:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
