Utah State University is Hiring a CHaSS Advancement Event & Operations Specialist Near Logan, UT

Overview

The CHaSS Advancement Event & Operations Specialist (Program Coordinator III) is responsible for strategically planning and executing the College’s Advancement Operations under the oversight of the Dean. The Specialist will collaborate with the Dean and the Development Officers in their efforts to secure the resources necessary to advance the mission of the College and University. This will include demonstrating a high degree of initiative while collaboratively and collegially planning and managing multiple complex advancement operations including but not limited to alumni relations, event planning, corporate and foundation relations, annual giving and marketing efforts through their full production cycles, budget management, and supervision of students, interns, and staff. The position will be based at USU’s main campus in Logan and will require the incumbent to travel to locations off campus, including to locations in other states and nations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plans, designs, coordinates, and implements projects and events in support of the College’s advancement efforts.
  • Serves as a principal liaison between students, faculty, staff, other departments, and external constituencies in support of the College’s advancement efforts.
  • Coordinates and manages events including working with vendors, acquiring venues, catering, etc., and negotiating contract details. Travel to handle logistics on-site to ensure success of event including supervising staff, volunteers, etc. and problem solving any issues that may arise.
  • Facilitates seminars, meetings, and special projects on and off USU’s main campus in Logan and in locations throughout Utah, in other states, and internationally.
  • Organizes activities that support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of the College’s advancement efforts including the CHaSS Advancement Board and the CHaSS Alumni Engagement Board.
  • Monitors and administers CHaSS advancement revenues and expenses.
  • Participates in funding proposal development for CHaSS advancement.
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates development of promotional materials, newsletters, and/or brochures in support of CHaSS advancement in coordination with both the CHaSS and advancement marketing teams.
  • Collects and analyzes data; captures post-event data and evaluates event ROI; prepares scheduled and special reports; maintains records and statistical information related to the college’s advancement efforts.
  • Oversight of CHaSS advancement correspondence, reports, and other publications.
  • Writes and/or assists with writing proposals for ChaSS Advancement Operations in coordination with the Advancement Foundation’s and Corporate Relations team’s objectives.
  • On their own or with others, maintains and creates advancement content for the CHaSS website.
  • Trains and directs lower level staff, student employees, volunteers, and/or graduate students.
  • Contributes to business and operational decisions that affect CHaSS advancement.
  • May serve as administrative proxy in the absence of the Dean and/or Development Officers in advancement related meetings.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Six (6) years relevant work experience OR an equivalent combination of experience plus education (e.g. 3 years’ experience and 3 years education) is required.
  • Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for operational needs.
  • Ability to travel to other states and nations for activities related to their responsibilities.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Event planning experience
  • Budget management experience
