A Research Technician position is available in the Schroeder lab at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The lab studies novel actin and tubulin proteins that span the animal kingdom, and the research includes doing fly genetics, tissue culture work, and evolutionary analyses. This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic student who wants to gain an intense research experience before pursuing graduate school. The ideal candidate is reliable, highly motivated, scientifically curious, organized, and able to work independently. Previous research experience is preferred.
Duties will include
Carrying out an independent research project.
Carrying out general lab maintenance duties.
Keeping a detailed lab notebook.
Participating in lab meetings, seminars, and journal clubs.
