Job Summary

The Department of Information Resources (IR) The Information Resources Manager of Organizational Change Management plays a critical leadership role in facilitating seamless adoption, thorough utilization, and improved proficiency of organizational changes impacting UTSW employees. This position entails leading and mentoring a team of Change Management Practitioners and Business Analysts, overseeing the development and implementation of change management plans. They spearhead efforts to address employee resistance, resulting in the realization of benefits, value, ROI, and the achievement of desired outcomes.

Experience and Education

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and ten (10) years of experience with change management principles, methodologies, and tools to include a minimum two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Master’s degree preferred. Change management certification or designation required.
  • Project management certification preferred.
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) training or certification(s) required.
  • Prosci ADKAR® Model required or certification is required 6 months after hire. 

Job Duties

  • Responsible for leading, managing, and developing Change Management Practitioners.
  • Determine and establish work priorities and staffing needs.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and employee professional development plans.
  • Manages the IR change management framework that prepares, equips, and supports individuals to successfully adopt change to drive organizational success and outcomes.
  • Manages the activities of the change management strategic roadmap.
  • Supports the change management team in the creation of change management strategies and the execution of core change management plans: Sponsor Plan, People Manager Plan, Communications Plan, and Training Plan. Manages the change portfolio by organizing and aligning similar changes occurring across multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Advises and engages senior leaders on change management practices.
  • Partners with the Project Management Office to align the integration of change management activities into the project management lifecycle.
  • Partners with IR leaders and personnel managers to build and develop change management capabilities within the organization. Leads the team through positive, strategic, and transformative leadership fostering a culture that is aligned with the core Information Resources principles of Transparency, Respect, Excellence, and Ownership (TREO).
  • Identifies tools and techniques and stays current with change management trends.
  • Proposes solutions to challenging problems. 
  • Work to not only see the challenges with others approaches but offer alternative solutions in a professional and objective manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Work requires strong organizational and technical skills. A solid understanding of how people go through change and the change process. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent active listening skills. Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts. Experience with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle. Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Problem solving and root-cause identification skills. Work requires self-motivation with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges. Work requires the ability to work with internal and external individuals from different disciplines and different levels of training. Able to work effectively at all levels of the organization. Work requires flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships. Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal. Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.

Work is performed primarily in general office environment.
