Job Summary:
Mental health therapist interns will receive training and supervision to meet the licensure requirements for the state of Texas and most other states. There are ample opportunities to be involved in scientific manuscripts, conference presentations, and research grant submissions. All applicants must have the unrestricted ability to work in the US.
This position is located at Fort Cavazos (4.4 miles from Killeen TX)
Job Duties:
1.Provides counseling and case management services for patients using evidence-based practices.
2.Performs crisis interventions as needed.
3. Coordinates with referring providers and other professionals, family members as needed, to engage patient in care.
4. Provides liaison between clinical team, clinical leadership, and other professionals involved in the patient's care.
5. Consults and assures continuity of care, conveys assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
6. Prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.
7. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required.
Experience:
Up to one (1) year related experience.
Additional Licenses and Certifications:
At minimum, registered with the Texas Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists as an intern.
QMHP eligible and on track to LPC preferred.
