Job Summary: Under direct supervision, responsible for providing customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance benefits and obtaining authorization, and providing telephone triage. Job Duties:
Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration and obtains authorizations.
Assists in the collection of copays and enters new patient information.
Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts; ensures test results are filed.
Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED is required. Experience: One (1) year of directly related experience is required.
