USW Menard is Hiring a Parts Specialist Near Leland, NC

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Filling crew order promptly and ensuring that the necessary paperwork and data entry is completed.
  • Noting item inventory levels and completing parts request form as needed.
  • Opening, counting and putting away all inbound packages as they are received. Logging the packing slip and receiving report.
  • Directing and unloading deliveries with use of heavy equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for packaging, labeling and shipping LTL’s and small packages based off of requirements. Ensuring the packing is correct and sharing tracking number and information with receiving party.
  • Ensuring all PRF (part request form) are completed and creating form for crew members based off of their needs.
  • Monitoring all shop consumables (weekly), bulk conex supplies (weekly), engineer box supplies (monthly), and general inventory levels as needed. When inventory is low responsible for completing the PRF as needed.
  • Assisting yard crew with pulling parts for loadouts. Monitoring stock levels as items are pulled.
  • Sourcing and placing orders as directed and issuing purchase orders as needed.
  • Additional tasks as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Competent computer skills.
  • Experience of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery parts.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of departments e.g. Shop staff and Management, Mechanics, Superintendents and Project staff.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Education and Experience Requirements

Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred plus 2 or more years of related experience. Experience operating heavy equipment a plus. Must have the capability to pass required safety certifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work long periods in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery.
  • Able to use computer for long periods of time.
  • Long periods of standing.
