We are currently searching for a Material Handler to be based out of Fort Mill, SC. Reporting to the Shift Lead Production Supervisor, this person will package finish PVC pipe in proper crate quantities for shipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior success as a Material Handler or equivalent position at Atkore International and experience in lean manufacturing or a business system based company is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Confirm extrusion line product with schedule

* Assist with Quality Control duties. (Monitor saw cuts, pipe length, bell fit, product color)

* Perform inspections of product for proper print line and quality specifications

* Package finished pipe in proper crate quantities

* Maintenance and cleanup for production and storage areas.

* Know and follow plant safety rules and wear proper PPE (safety glasses, ear plus, steel-toe shoes, gloves)

* Able to prioritize tasks and anticipate needs in order to effectively manager time in order to accomplish all tasks

* Housekeeping in assigned area

* All other assigned duties

Qualifications include:

* Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent

* Experience in manufacturing or prior success in Material Handler (or equivalent) position at Atkore International preferred

* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

* Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations

* Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization

* Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner

* Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment

* Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
