We are currently searching for a Cleaner/Packer Straight Tray - Lead to be based out of Atlanta, GA. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing many of the duties of the cleaner/packer but they are also responsible for leading the work of others and participating in work related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.

Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate the activities of subordinates

Actively participate in Atkores safety program

Cross train in different areas of the Shipping Department as required

Ensure all processes are carried out with the required use of safety controls and PPE

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

Ensure accurate, up-to-date records of inventory in stock and daily operations; completes necessary forms or paperwork for documentation

Oversees and participates in counting, weighing, and measuring outgoing shipments

Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.

Identify and label material according to the work order

Operate chop saw and air-compressed nailer to build wooden pallets

Prepares material for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, and crating

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications include:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)

* Two years of shipping/receiving experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved

* Two years of PIT operation experience

* Ability to read tap measure

* Ability to work 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

* Ability to stand and work a 10-hour shift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment

* Must be willing to work overtime as needed

* Detail-Oriented

* Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations preferred

* Knowledge of record keeping practices preferred

* Knowledge of safety practices

* Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles preferred

* Skills in operating automotive, materials handling and office equipment

* Skills in lifting heavy packages and objects

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 75 pounds. The manufacturing plant is not climate controlled. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety work shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
