USS - North America is Hiring an Industrial Electrician Near Ecorse, MI

The Industrial Electrician, known internally as Maintenance Technician – Electrical, installs, maintains, repairs, and operates a broad range of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment to maintain continuous operations. We run a 24/7/365 business, and as such we utilize rotating shifts, which include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Paid overtime will be required on a regular basis.

U.S. Steel leads the industry in our safety procedures/guidelines. They must be followed at all times - Safety is our core value which requires you to wear safety protection such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, boots, and respirator equipment. Employees in this role are assigned to install, maintain, and repair a broad range of electrical and electronic systems and equipment while working with schematics, AC/DC systems, and PLCs.

Responsibilities:

May be required to work at heights and/or in confined spaces.

May work alone with minimal supervision or with other maintenance technicians.

Work in various areas of the plant, dependent on the area, environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.

Various duties including those described throughout the posting

Aid in operating functions as necessary

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Must pass an on-site written and hands-on assessment

At least one year of one of the following:

Manufacturing and/or industrial experience as an Electrician,

Relevant military experience,

Equivalent education (such as industrial electronics, motors and controls, schematics and electrical power, print reading, computers and PLCs, electronics, AC/DC theory, power, test instruments and instrumentation, electrical maintenance, commercial construction and installation).

This position is a rotating shift, including holidays and weekends.
