Ushers / Aalberts surface technologies-machining solutions is Hiring a Material Handler - First Shift! Near Greenville, SC

Description

We are excited to announce a new opportunity within our organization! A new position for a Material Handler has opened up, and we would love for a talented and motivated individual to join us in this role. The schedule for this position would be 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. The shift options are: 6 AM-2:30PM, 7AM-3:30PM, or 8AM-4:30PM

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Responsible for ensuring raw materials, machined parts, and other components are ready and available for production. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operation of forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Accurately and efficiently gather necessary material according to the provided work order
  • Safely load and unload material at work centers within the production area

SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:

  • Performs tasks to transport, store, load, and unload materials within the manufacturing areas
  • Ensures production areas are supplied with required material to complete jobs
  • Utilizes fork trucks, pallet jacks, dollies, and other material-moving equipment safely at all times
  • Maintains fork truck daily check sheets by inspecting each at the start of the shift
  • Notifies the appropriate parties when maintenance is needed on the lifting equipment
  • Changes propane tanks for forklifts when needed; ensures safe storage of propane in appropriate area
  • Refers inventory issues to leaders to be corrected immediately
  • Performs regular cycle counts of parts and materials to ensure readiness for work orders
  • Assists within the Shipping, Receiving, and/or Inventory Control Areas when needed

  • Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Willingly performs other duties as trained and able

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, & REGISTRATIONS:

  • OSHA Forklift certification is desired but not required

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, & REGISTRATIONS:

  • OSHA Forklift certification desired but not required

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & SKILLS:

Must have:

  • Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions; to exercise proper judgment and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with keen attention to detail, strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to understand, track, organize, and complete multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact diplomatically with employees, customers, and associates
  • Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed
  • Ability to learn and accurately use all company computer enterprise resource planning and other software programs 
  • Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc.
  • Ability to work a schedule of extended and flexible hours when needed
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to diverse groups in varied venues and communities
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read and view paperwork, printouts, computer screens, etc.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate equipment as related to fulfilling assigned duties
  • Ability to create, uphold, and comply with the company Mission, Safety, and Quality policies to the letter of each

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job
  • Must be able to sit/stand continuously daily for 2 or more hours consecutively
  • Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort
  • Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine typing and operate office equipment
  • Physical activity: Sitting, walking, standing, typing, holding, grasping, etc. approximately 30% of time 
  • Bending, reaching outwards and above shoulders, and lifting twenty pounds unassisted approximately 80% of time

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job activities are generally performed in a lighted and ventilated office and/or factory environment.

One will be exposed to changes in ambient temperature, noise, and dust without abnormal hazards or risks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
