LPN/MA/EMT/Athletic Trainer - USFTGP Family Medicine

Job Description:

Assists staff, providers, residents and medical students with patient care, clerical, and organizational tasks using a team-based approach in providing patient care. Responsible for appointment scheduling, diagnostic testing and medical record management for the Department of Neurology. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the care services. Conveys a positive image of USFTGP. Note: Must successfully demonstrate competencies within job position. Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

LPN: High School diploma or equivalent. Licensed as Practical Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 – maintain an active Florida license. BLS/AED certification is required and must be maintained; demonstrated competency within 90 days required.

MA: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Certification/Registration as a CMA or RMA through one of the national certifying organizations required. BLS/AED certification is required and must be maintained; demonstrated competency within 90 days required.

Experience: Experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare facility preferred.

EMT: High School diploma or equivalent required. Registration as an EMT (NREMT). EMC Certified may substitute. BLS and AED certification is required and must be maintained; demonstrated competency within 90 days required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a EMT or EMR.

Athletic Trainer: Florida State Athletic Training License, Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Athletic training experience in a physician setting preferred.
