Job Description

Title: District Laptop and Chromebook Technician

Reports to: Technology Director

Purpose:

To provide technical assistance to district employees with job required software and technology assisted programs.

To provide staff development training on the district approved software and technology assisted programs for employees.

To assist with required technology assisted reports.

To write and/or assist with the development and implementation of technology grants

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or higher

2. Working knowledge of computers and electronic equipment

3. Ability to communicate with others in written and oral formats

4. Ability to schedule and make decisions

Performance Responsibilities/Environmental Conditions:

1. Oversee the 1-to-1 chromebook program throughout the district.

2. Maintain district chromebooks, performing physical and software repairs as needed

3. Maintain district teacher laptops, performing physical and software repairs as needed

4. Maintain district student laptops in mobile carts throughout the district, performing physical and software repairs as needed

5. Manage laptop and chromebook inventory.

6. Conduct freshman and incoming student orientation

7. Order replacement parts for laptops and chromebooks

8. Ship and track chromebooks for off-site repairs

9. Image and prepare laptops for student use

10. Clean and store high school chromebooks for summer storage

11. Field calls and questions concerning network and Internet issues, especially if , when Mr. Ackerman is out of the district

12. Assist technology director with training for district teachers as needed

13. Assist high school teachers in creating and maintaining their web pages

14. Assist district staff with software support such as Google, Quia, etc.

15. Assist district staff with other various software problems

16. Assist state testing, including proper hardware and software installations, to insure internet connectivity and test submissions

17. Other duties as assigned by district technology director or the district superintendent

Evaluation: Performance effectiveness evaluated in accordance with provisions of Kansas Statutes and Board of Education Policy.
