USAM DC LLC is Hiring a Millwork Production Scheduler Near Manassas, VA

SUMMARY: The Scheduler works with Project Managers to schedule work orders to be performed in Engineering, Manufacturing and Install, using several tools to manage a high volume of projects, work orders and capacity utilization. The position also connects with departments downstream to assess workload, schedule accuracy and resource allocation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Determines budgeted hours of work needed to complete each job from architectural and internal shop drawings.
  • Breaks down budgeted hours into separate trackable items and input into the schedule.
  • Organizes and maintains the scheduling management system.
  • Keeps track of project timelines and maintains database of tasks and statuses.
  • Logs all new information into the database from external sources for coordination and reporting purposes.
  • Communicates with customers and project staff to schedule work and coordinate assignments.
  • Works with the project management team to maintain timely and effective schedule; notifies them of any major changes or deviations from the schedule.
  • Conducts on-going analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Assess work orders in the schedule queue for accuracy, feasibility and priority
  • Review work order schedule requests in queue and approve or negotiate with PMs
  • Review work orders to assess schedule compliance and duration feasibility
  • Follow up on blocked work orders to drive manufacturing to meet project schedules
  • Set up new jobs when converted from a bid
  • Assist Engineering and Shop leadership in managing labor and resource capacity
  • Communicate with PMs regarding overdue tasks to release work orders
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSPreferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Operations Management or a related field
  • Experience in Planning or Scheduling functions in a manufacturing organization
Required Education and Skills:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in the construction industry or a related field, highly desired
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Teams
  • Computer learning agility; must be able to learn new programs quickly
  • Extremely well-organized with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly establish good working relationship
