USA Health is Hiring a Radiologic Technologist - CT- PRN Near Mobile, AL

Responsibilities:
Ability and willingness to rotate within the Radiology and CT departments as needed; may assist with training of Radiology and CT students; performs a variety of related digital image management tasks as necessary. ie exceptions, annotations; maintains competency by demonstrating a complete working knowledge of all imaging equipment and supplies, including but not limited toCT, including CT fluoroscopy for invasive procedures, power injector, post processing software, radiology digital fluoro and diagnostic equipment, invasive procedure supplies and/or trays in both Radiology and CT; demonstrates proper positioning for all CT and Radiology exams, including invasive procedures; appropriately labels patient position to reflect correct orientation of images, with use of markers in Radiology or correct labeling in CT; uses appropriate scanning factors and protocols according to patient and body part being examined; provides radiation protection to patient, family, staff and self, according to prescribed safety standards; recognizes emergency situations and initiates code procedures as needed; performs patient assessment and screening, such as allergies, potential drug interactions, and lab requirements, within the scope of practice; reviews patient’s prior imaging and history to ensure appropriate exam is ordered, consulting the Radiologist or ordering practitioner when needed; maintains aseptic or sterile technique, as appropriate, when performing invasive procedures in Radiology and/or CT; directly assists the Radiologist during procedures in Radiology and/or CT; prepares patient for intravenous (IV) injections: starting the IV and maintaining access; administers IV contrast per approved protocols; administers oral and/or rectal contrast in Radiology and/or CT per approved protocols and the order of licensed practitioner; maintains competency in point of care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR testing; follows all CAP and CLIA guidelines in the performance of point of care testing (POCT) for creatinine/eGFR testing on outpatients; recognizes and appropriately responds to extravasation of IV contrast, ensuring proper treatment and notifying the patient’s healthcare provider; for outpatients, instructions are provided prior to discharge; reviews CPOE and written orders checking for special instructions from physicians and consults with physicians as needed; reviews images and consults with radiologist when pathology seen may require protocol revision; accurately critiques images to determine diagnostic quality and adjusts factors if imaging is to be repeated; adheres to established protocols, QA guidelines, and regulatory requirements; performs or assists with the performance of accreditation requirements for the American College of Radiology (ACR); pleasantly greets patient, confirming identity using two identifiers and introducing oneself; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with patients, families, and all members of the healthcare team; completely explains examination procedure to the patient and family, if present; performs visual preventive safety inspections of all equipment used and communicates problems to supervisor/assistant director/director; maintains necessary inventory of supplies, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items; maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the department; completes all aspects of a patient’s exam, including ensuring images are available for physician review on PACS in a timely manner, charging procedures and supplies, documenting contrast usage, and documenting history or additional notes; protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and procedures; maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and/or participating in professional societies; completes all mandatory educational requirements in a timely manner; accepts and completes all duties positively and without conflict; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of an approved course in Radiologic Technology, three years of experience conducting routine diagnostic procedures, and completion of an approved program in advanced modality or one year of experience in advanced modality. A bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology may substitute for up to one year of experience in conducting routine diagnostic procedures. Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology is required.
Advanced registry is highly preferred, and may be required for certain modalities
