Responsibilities

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine is currently seeking candidates for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Palliative Care to continue the growth of care for patients with medically complex and palliative care needs.
Duties include inpatient care at USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital, the primary referral center for the region, and teaching medical students and residents. Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics. USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital provides comprehensive and coordinated care for children with complex medical needs in a consultative model, in collaboration with community and specialty providers. This physician role will be providing medical consultation to children with complex health care and end-of-life needs and cover sedation. Experience in the care of children with medical complexity, symptom management and end-of-life care preferred.
Successful candidates will interact with an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals dealing with a broad range of pediatric diseases. Unique opportunities for program development, clinical research, and scholarly interactions with clinical and laboratory research programs are available.
