USA Health Systems is Hiring a Pharmacy Technician II - Providence Hospital Near Mobile, AL

Responsibilities

Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization’s values; adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality and dress code; participates in customer courtesy programs; utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment and supplies necessary to perform essential functions; performs pharmaceutical care activities and functions by maintaining and operating equipment; reports broken or malfunctioning equipment; maintains current and adequate medications and supplies; utilizes a personal computer to access the hospital information system and the pharmacy purchasing system; performs all tasks necessary to prepare and deliver medications using a variety of transport mechanisms; restocks all work areas by transfer of stock or filling of appropriate carts and drawers, including emergency stock; reorders medications and supplies as required; supervises lower level staff to include assigning duties and checking work; assists in training and orientation of lower level staff; utilizes aseptic technique to compound small volume and large volume IV’s, with the ability to calculate and measure accurate doses; assists the pharmacist in the performance pharmaceutical care activities; communicates and uses appropriate customer relation skills with physicians, patients, families and healthcare team in person and via telephone; responds to overhead pages; maintains accurate and complete records by utilizing the correct tools and procedures for all pharmacy functions; maintains proper records for all medications and controlled substance dispensed or received; completes all mandatory departmental, educational and hospital requirements; utilizes cost effective practices in performing job functions; adheres to contract purchasing agreements as appropriate; adheres to current infection control and safety standards; participates in performance improvement activities through quality measurement or participation of PDSA process as assigned; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; regular and prompt attendance and the ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, registry with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) as a Pharmacy Technician and completion of an ALBOP approved hospital technician training course within six months of registration per ALBOP requirements and completion of sterile compounding training with USA Health. Experience is preferred.
