Principal Chemist ChampionX has an immediate need for a Principal Chemist on the Flow Assurance RD&E team located in Sugar Land, Texas. The Principal Chemist will provide technical solutions to our customers and support new product development related to oilfield scale issues. What You Will Do: In this role, the candidate will focus on inorganic scale in the oil field environment. Perform work in a safe manner while identifying opportunities for improvement. Support the Flow Assurance team through product development and field qualifications. Design, conduct, and interpret laboratory tests to support key customer projects. Effectively communicate results to peers, project teams, and customers through written reports and oral presentations. Actively engage in development of new platforms that meet strategic business needs. Interface with both internal and external customers Minimum Qualifications: Degree in chemistry or related technical field. Education and experience should be at a minimum: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of industrial R&D experience Master’s Degree and 3 years of industrial R&D experience Ph.D. and 0-2 years of industrial R&D experience Demonstrated project management and organizational skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
