POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing standards, routings processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conduct material flow analysis Conduct time and motion studies Perform data analysis to support capacity and head count requirements Work with other departments to develop production standards Update and revise production BOM, Router to reflect accurate standards Generate work instructions and SOP’s Support implementation of production routers and shop floor control Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams Support error proofing initiatives Support continuous improvement initiatives Support new program implementation and existing program changes Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures. Perform all other related duties as assigned by the manager KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to understand basic Six Sigma concepts and interpret methodology results. Ability to read and write technical specifications and reports. Ability to understand mechanical processes. Ability to proficiently use various company-related and external systems and databases. Ability to proficiently use computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work effectively with customers, internal/external personnel, suppliers, and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to meet time sensitive deadlines, be detail- oriented and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously. Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is desirable. QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the field of Industrial, Mechanical, or Mechatronics. Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing and/or the automotive industry preferred. Must have problem-solving and analytical skills with knowledge of Six Sigma methodology. Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes strongly preferred. Excellent organizational and technical writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. TRAVEL Limited travel may be required.
