Your role at Clorox: Clorox is expanding its market presence in Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines), working with a variety of brands including Cleaning and Disinfection, Burt’s Bees, Glad, and Ever Clean Litter. As the business is growing Clorox creating unique innovation plans for each of these four categories. As a result, we are looking for a Senior Scientist who is capable of working on multiple technologies and brands at once, who can build strong relationships with external manufacturers, and who can develop a vision for the future of sustainability. In this role, you will: Act as the technical and project packaging lead for multiple Brands, being the packaging voice for the entire Clorox Asia Market, including Cleaning and Disinfection, Ever Clean (Cat Litter), Glad, and Burt’s Bees Ensure the technical requirements are met for Asia and translates consumer needs to technical solutions Bring together the primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging to enable customer and consumer needs across all forms and technologies; flexible pouches/bags, bottle/closure molding, paper based packaging cartons/corrugate, and retailer displays Lead packaging specific projects, partnering with subject matter experts, marketing leads and project managers, influencing for the best strategy even if unpopular Establish and grow new external technology and capability partners Develop and lead product testing and validation work Create and implement a multiyear sustainability plan for the Asia region that meets corporate goals Understand local sustainability requirements/constraints across the Asia Region What we look for: Bachelors or Masters in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of industry experience Minimum: 5 years as a packaging developer in consumer product goods companies or applicable field, experience with Asia suppliers and/or in the Asian market preferred Strong internal motivation, robust planning of technical and cross functional teams, critical thinking, problem solving under unique constraints, able to work independently, patient Must be willing to travel 5-10% (supplier and sustainability conferences) Workplace type: This will be a hybrid position, working 2-3 days in the Pleasanton office.
