The professional in this role is responsible for leading and coordinating conversion department operations. Managing 9 salaried employees and 230 hourly employees. In this role, you will: In this role, the Production Manager will serve as a “manufacturing generalist” for all department operating team members focusing on daily management and coordination of safety, quality, costs, raw material management, customer service, people development, and performance management. The role leads the identification of continuous improvement opportunities, to include resource identification and direction to execute. The person will also provide input into success criteria for projects and product innovations as well as operational readiness leadership and/or support for implementations. Champion Safety with a Zero injury attitude. Drive improvements through Operations Excellence methodology. Drive KPI improvement using PDCA methodology. People development including Operations Leaders, Tech Resources, Team Leaders, and Team Members for the department. Active member of the Plant Leadership Team. Partnership with external customers to deliver strategic business initiatives. What we look for: 5 years of Manufacturing Supply Chain experience with a focus on manufacturing and people development. 5 years of managerial experience in a Manufacturing setting BS/BA degree or equivalent experience. Engineering or technical degree preferred. Experience with budgeting and organization Skills required include developing people, leading safety, improving quality and service, delivering cost results, launching new product introductions, managing change, and driving continuous improvement using operations excellence methodology. The ability to lead and influence others is essential as this role is a conduit to partner groups such as R&D, Engineering, etc. Operations Excellence (TPM, Lean, 6 Sigma) experience preferred.
