R10039570 Total Gas Management Technician/Back Up Driver (CDL A or B) (Open) Location: Wheeling, WV - Retail shop How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Total Gas Management Technician/Back p driver will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Customer’s Supply Chain Solutions Model to include packaged gas deliveries and management programs, establishing safe handling practices, efficient order processing & invoicing, initiating & executing cost reduction programs, reporting and day-to-day customer interface at the customer sites. You will be the first line Airgas representative with the customer for all packaged gases, welding hardgoods and safety supplies related issues. This position will be responsible for efficiently managing customers' product needs in a way to remain ahead of usage and avoiding emergencies. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation. In particular, you will: Clean and organize customer storage location(s). Manage branch cylinder operation through SOP. Order all product as needed and adjust min/max inventory levels as necessary. Provide customer Technical Support for gas and gas delivery equipment. Connecting & Disconnecting cylinders. Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Safely loads, delivers and unloads cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations. Delivers compressed gas cylinders to external and internal customer sites. Records deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtains signatures from customers for receipt purposes. Collects empty cylinders or rejected or unsold merchandise. Returns empty cylinders to either a plant or branch location for refilling. Establishes and maintains good customer relations. Listens to and helps resolve service inquiries and complaints. Provides timely communication back to manager or to the customer's assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes or issues experienced by the customer. Maintains load manifests and all required vehicle documents by ensuring they are properly completed and reconciled with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries. Ensures that vehicle manifests, vehicle placards, cylinder labeling and load nesting and strapping at all times comply with Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and all government regulations including, but not limited to, those issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Performs pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections documenting deficiencies; ensures all safety items are in good working order. Works in warehouse or on dock as needed. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? Valid Class A or B CDL with Valid Medical Examiner's Card, Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications. Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years. In lieu of experience, we may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years. Must be at least 21 years or older Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets. Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and have a high attention to detail. Prior experience in the gas, welding and safety supply industry preferred. Intermediate PC knowledge to include familiarity with Microsoft Office platform and onboard computers/telematics preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to clearly and effectively speak to customers and employees as well as legibly write. Ability to perform math functions and analysis as needed by the position.
