Reimagine What’s Possible We have an immediate opening for an Operational Excellence Reliability Engineer working flexible hybrid Monday to Friday typical business hours out of our Global HQ in Allentown, PA or Corporate Office in Hersham, UK. Ability to travel 20%, a majority will be domestic travel to start. Has a willingness to travel globally, mostly to operating sites. The Op Ex Reliability Engineer is responsible to support identification, development, analysis, and implementation of solutions to improve operating reliability across industrial gas sites worldwide. The successful applicant will work alongside other discipline specific engineers, training personnel, and procedure writers to promote and drive both site specific and fleet-wide reliability improvement initiatives. The role will be expected to support existing work processes in our HYCO business, and then quickly advance into growth areas such as green or blue hydrogen, carbon capture, liquid hydrogen, and/or ammonia processes. Common challenges: May be called upon to support include the resolution of longer term reliability and maintenance issues. Examples may involve addressing trends of higher than typical component failure rates, steam quality concerns, pre-mature catalyst degradation, breakdown of insulation, or other chronic equipment and performance problems. After gathering an understanding of field experience, the position holder will be tasked to feedback the learnings and work with fellow engineers, operations management and/or design teams to mitigate problems by improving operating practices, standards, and design protocols. The position requires an individual with demonstrated leadership skills, broad based technical abilities, and a basic financial background since reliability recommendations must consider payback analysis and business constraints. Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential to the position. Responsibilities of the position include: Monitoring operations across industrial gas sites, to support efforts to meet our reliability targets, while achieving the lowest life cycle cost. Analyzing fleet reliability data to understand the leading causes for plant upsets and drive initiatives to reduce the reoccurrence of these causes across similar plants. Prioritizing and directing the implementation of reliability improvement initiatives, working in conjunction with our Operations, Business, and the Engineering teams. Maintaining and supporting a global system (Event Management) for capturing, investigating, performing root cause analysis and tracking resolution of incidents that result in plant production interruptions within our Operations organization. Leading and supporting field sites in facilitating root cause analysis investigations to understand the true causes of production interruptions and then identifying and leading selection of appropriate solutions to improve plant reliability and operability. Leading/Assisting with the Plant Reliability Review Assessments using tools such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify site reliability improvement opportunities. Working closely with maintenance and inspection personnel to ensure that mechanical integrity program (MI) and preventive maintenance programs (PM) are serving their intended purpose. Supporting the reporting of Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Investigating and developing Best Practices recommendations to systematically address reliability issues across plants. Overseeing our Best Practice system which promotes communication of Best Practice ideas that have been adopted for implementation, support sites in the implementation of these practices, and monitors compliance of Best Practice initiatives to drive organizational improvement. Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance, engineering, and/or operations roles. Ability to work independently as well as to lead and participate on cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to completion, and obtain results. Proficiency and/or willingness to apply reliability improvement tools such as root cause analysis charting software and FMEA tools. Willingness to travel globally, mostly to operating sites. Typical expected travel is 20%.
