The Role and Responsibilities: We are looking for an energetic and ambitious individual to join the fast-growing Retail Banking team as a Senior Analyst. The team develops the research agenda, produces proprietary content and thought leadership, and provides advice to business and technology executives at retail banks, as well as the technology companies that support them. You will be a key contributor to driving growth of the Retail Banking practice and will have the opportunity to bring your creative ideas. The role entails developing and delivering research, client advisory and consulting services, as well as active interest in promoting personal and Celent brand. Research: Conduct leading-edge research and publish insightful content focused on technology trends and implications for retail banking. This includes monitoring key market trends, analyzing best practices in how banks deploy various technologies, understanding how emerging technologies can deliver strategic advantage, and profiling technology solutions to help our clients navigate a complex technology landscape. You will build that knowledge by conducting primary and secondary research, including market interviews, surveys, and briefings. Client Advisory and Consulting Services: Work directly with our clients to address specific strategic issues where technology has a significant impact. This includes regular discussions and interactions with Celent research clients, as well as short, high-impact strategy consulting engagements, such as technology strategy workshops, solution due diligence, market entry/expansion strategy, or bespoke primary research. Personal and Celent Brand Promotion: Develop a high personal profile and strengthen the company brand in your domain of expertise. This includes preparing and delivering engaging thought leadership presentations, such as client webinars and public speaking at conferences and industry events. Your Attributes and Experience: We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for understanding the business value of technology across the retail banking sector. In addition, we seek a person with a keen interest in how the segment and technology-led innovations will evolve over the next few years and beyond while maintaining a grounded and pragmatic perspective on what’s possible. The candidate should enjoy research, especially interview-based research, and writing. The person should be comfortable with and capable of building trusted relationships with clients who are often senior executives. We anticipate that candidates with experience in strategy, consulting, IT architecture, and/or project/product management, especially digital transformation, will excel in this role. Skills and Expertise: A working knowledge of the role technology plays in shaping Retail and Commercial Banking, especially: Understanding of existing and new core banking platforms and how they are evolving. How technologies such as cloud or low/ no code development platforms help deliver digital transformation. Technology transformation approaches and tools, including how banks manage data. A keen interest in understanding emerging technologies and fintech innovations. Intellectual curiosity and the drive to learn about and master new areas. Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working in a global, culturally diverse environment. Excellent communication skills both written and oral, including ability to structure content and deliver clear messages in different formats (e.g., Word-based report vs PowerPoint presentation vs video, etc.) Growing public profile and reputation with strong public speaking and facilitation skills. Strong understanding of research methods, qualitative and quantitative. Ability to self-motivate and work independently. A keen eye for opportunities to develop new research propositions or ways to make Celent an even better place to work. Academic background: Excellent academic credentials from a top university. MBA or other advanced degrees (MS, PhD, etc.), in or with option in data or computer science is preferred. Professional experience: 5 years’ experience in a top financial institution (bank preferred) with some responsibility for technology strategy or product/project management. 5 years’ experience in a management consulting firm, or other research & advisory firm in a strategy, research, or consulting role. Location: Geographic region is flexible, either in North America or Europe. Specific location is flexible. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
