Here’s the Gist: Wolfspeed is looking for an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at our new location in Siler City, NC – the world's largest silicon carbide materials factory. This position possesses a high-level skill set in Instrumentation and Controls (I&C). The position allows a candidate to work on all instrumentation and controls for components, equipment and systems in a semiconductor facility. The skill level for this position requires an individual to work independently on complicated equipment and systems with minimal instruction and direction. This position is responsible for the preventive, predictive, corrective maintenance and repairs of the instrumentation and controls of all associated facilities equipment. This position may work a compressed work schedule of 12 hour shifts alternating 3 and 4 days per week. The Day-to-Day: Troubleshoot programming and system faults for plant equipment and modify existing programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aide in improved troubleshooting and error response within the plant PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems. Participate in new equipment commissioning Perform calibrations of Flow, Temperature, Pressure, and Humidity Transmitters. Work with Engineering, other maintenance disciplines, and Facilities Operations to correct deficiencies in systems across the site. Routine use of computers and software to include Microsoft Office suite of products, SCADA, and CMMS. This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): Must have a highschool diploma, GED, or equilvant 5 years of applicable experience can be a combination of a degree from an accredited, technical college, or equivalent military training paired with experience. Ability to work with minimal Instruction Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and maintain instrument as-built documentation Proficiency and experience troubleshooting integrated HMI/PLC control systems, including proficiency evaluating/modifying associated programming and devices, experience tuning PID loops Participate in training as required and have the ability to train less experienced personnel. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, at heights and confined spaces, around machinery and moving parts Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists, includes standing or walking over hard concrete surface, and climbing ladders This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
