Here’s the Gist: Wolfspeed is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to serve as a U.S. GAAP subject matter expert focusing on the accounting and reporting impacts of draft and final accounting pronouncements or proposed transactions. This position will initiate, monitor and drive progress on the research and resolution of technical accounting issues by working closely with key stakeholders in management, finance and shared services/accounting teams. *This position will report directly to the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager in Durham, North Carolina. There is also an option to work remotely on Eastern or Central time. The Day-to-Day: Monitor and communicate the status of emerging accounting guidance and its potential impact to the company. Be accountable for the company’s accounting issues resolution process, including identifying, tracking, researching, documenting, and implementing technical accounting and financial statement presentation matters. Provide support for specific areas as directed by their manager, including, but not limited to oversight of certain global balance sheet responsibilities, merger & acquisition activity, implementation of new accounting policies, policy and process review, contract review, special projects and financial accounting for specific entities. Prepare analysis, draft memorandums, and propose journal entries for technical and complex accounting matters which may include accounting for stock compensation, leases, impairment assessments, financing transactions, and revenue recognition, etc. Contributes to the external financial reporting through preparation of disclosures and review of draft 10-Q / 10-K / other SEC filings. Maintain documentation of processes related to accounting procedures and internal controls Participate in and support ad-hoc projects and analysis as required. This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements): BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting with 4 years of relevant work experience within a public company and/or large regional or Big Four accounting firm CPA license or actively pursuing CPA license Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SEC requirements and internal control procedures Proven experience successfully researching and resolving technical accounting issues independently, and translating into clear, concise written communication. Must demonstrate business acumen, drive for results, and organizational agility. Strong collaborator with a customer focus and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and at all levels of the organization. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while adapting quickly to maintain deadlines Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
