US Water Services is Hiring a Certified Public Accountant Near Port Richey, FL

Position: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

U.S. Water Services Corporation is a well-established and diverse water and wastewater utility organization specializing in utility maintenance, operations, engineering and construction services. U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 850-plus employees in twenty states.

We are looking for a business-minded Certified Public Accountant with strong financial analysis, presentation, forecasting, planning, and reporting skills as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This individual should be a business partnering, proactive individual who can interpret and summarize financial data into meaningful financial reports and effectively partner with regional leaders to develop and support execution of forecasts, reconciliations, and analysis.

As a CPA, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, performing financial audits, and providing expert financial advice to Company Leaders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a growing private Company, regulatory reporting, and accrual accounting.

*This is an on-site position.

Job Summary:

  • Manage preparation of financial statements, forecasts, planning cycles on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP.
  • Supports the annual budget and standard cost process, strategic review process, and monthly/quarterly forecasting process.
  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests.
  • Works with operations and finance partners to develop and load financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Monitor and report financial performance, analyze results, investigate variances and unusual items; and evaluate their effect on Company operations.
  • Delivers timely, accurate and relevant financial reports to management in order to facilitate management level understanding of financial impacts.
  • Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay up to date on industry regulations and changes in accounting standards.
  • Completes special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  • 2 - 4 years' experience in general accounting or cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally accepted accounting principles).
  • Strong knowledge of debits, credits, and accrual accounting principles.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office products, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Preferred, Adobe Acrobat Pro Preferred, QuickBooks, UKG Pro experience a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals.
  • Must be able to work independently, multi-task, and work successfully in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Base Pay starts at $90,000/year and up based on experience.
