Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent serves as the primary source for individuals inquiring about physician recruitment; providing advice and guidance on the procedures of applying for a position, explaining recruitment/relocation incentives, Education Debt reduction program, credentialing and privileging as well as the stage of the recruitment process to include Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (EQIP) completion and pay and benefits information.
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert in recruitment and placement of Title 38 Physicians. Incumbent is expected to be innovative in developing outreach techniques to locate qualified and diversified candidates too hard to fill positions. Incumbent is considered an authority on human resources practices as they are applied in a healthcare setting. Incumbent will ensure that the specific requirements of physician positions are being recruited for a myriad of places, i.e., websites, journals, personal recruitment campaigns through universities.
Incumbent will liaison with Universities and Colleges to ensure continued receipt of communication from qualified applicants. Incumbent will utilize multiple advertising and face to face venues to accomplish the missions to including but not limited to Career Fairs at Universities and Medical Schools, Virtual Job Fairs, Commercial Job Fairs, canvasing contact listing from professional associations, and other electronic communication methods which may include alumni networks or employees' referrals. Incumbent will advise and train managers on recruitment strategies, sources of recruitments and special programs.
Incumbent will work with Services to identify and recommend appropriate recruitment incentives for key positions. Incumbent will assist managers in completing VA 10-016, Recruitment Incentives both Parts A and B. Incumbent will develop and implement Branding techniques and materials for TVAMC that will confirm and naturally associate with the VA Branding tools. Incumbent will research and utilize appropriate recruiting tools from VA and VHA. Incumbent will collaborate with Public Affairs to develop a marketing campaign designed to attract individuals that may not initially be interested in relocating. Maintains a database to track positions and candidates leads for short- and long-term use.
Incumbent will analyze trends and forecast changes in workforce requirements and prepare reports and recommendations on a monthly basis as to most effective manner or recruitment. Incumbent will be responsible for developing a tracking system for biennial pay to ensure biennials are routed for processing sixty days prior to the due date.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff or other Executive Leadership.
