Duties

As a Multimedia Specialist, you will:

  • Take abstract concepts and highly technical content that often has no precedent, for use in video productions, visual presentations, and virtual events.
  • Ensure quality control, timely delivery, and the most efficient cost method to produce the final product that meets agreed upon schedules and expectations, adds value, and visually and verbally expresses ideas that are both distinctive and innovative.
  • Communicate regularly with organizational leadership and staff to establish the objective of the product using various formats, styles, mediums, and methods to suggest how best to meet project objectives.
  • Design content using video, photography, graphics, illustrations, and sound for use online and in other mediums including television, videos, podcasts, in-person engagements, presentations, and other interactive platforms.
  • Produce multimedia products using cameras, computers, and broadcasting equipment through approved organizational processes that meet customer schedules and expectations, add value, and express ideas that are both distinctive and innovative.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-12 Specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include:
  • Using oral or written communication skills to provide customer service interaction; AND
  • Following policies, procedures, or industry standards; AND
  • Managing, organizing, tracking, storing and retrieving digital assets such as graphic design files, digital images, video and/or audio files; AND
  • Capturing/obtaining journalistic-style photos or videos used to support organizational events, external communication products like videos and podcasts, social media, exhibits, or other events while managing all aspects of producing visual information for multimedia uses, print and online uses, including the design, creation, and preparation of graphic art, videos, charts, page layouts, designs, and related content; AND
  • Planning and coordinating the preparation and use of photographs, videos, illustrations, drawings and various kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
