US United States Space Force Forces is Hiring a Technical Director Near Schriever, CO

Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) at Schriever Space Force Base is searching for a Technical Director for Space Delta 2 (NH-0301-04, GS 14/15 equivalent).
Description:
Position Located at Schriever SFB, Colorado - Member will serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the DEL 2 Det 1 section at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. Provides oversight to and leads team of highly skilled orbital analysts tasked with conducting the Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission within the National Space Defense Center's Special Access Program (SAP) MOD's on Schriever SFB. Manages the day-to-day operations of SDA analysts and oversees all administrative, logistical, security and personnel activities required to ensure continuity of operations. Responsible for informing DEL 2 Det 1 commander of any mission impacting considerations to ensure mission success. Plans, conducts, and attends meetings, conferences, and briefings. Professionally represents the DEL 2 Det 1 commander, at all levels and in all environments.
Ideal Candidate:
Space Domain Awareness experience
Supervisory and/or management experience
Previous technical director, orbital analyst, and military acquisition experience
Thorough understanding of orbital mechanics
Familiar with use of OA tools such as SPADOC, CaveNet, ASW, Web ISSA, Wasabi, Osiris, IS3, C2BMC-G
Experience with Space Surveillance Network and Command & Control architecture
Special Access Program experience
Bachelor's degree in STEM field or Master's degree on non-STEM field
Project Management Professional Certification
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge at an expert level of orbital mechanics and Astrodynamic algorithms for orbit determination and trajectory propagation, along with the ability to think in 3-dimensions and visualize/describe basic Keplerian motion.
2. Knowledge of safety and multi-level security regulations, practices, and procedures
3. Knowledge at an expert level of space surveillance systems, sensors, command and control and operational concepts and knowledge of primary perturbation effects for different orbit regimes.
4. Knowledge and skill at an expert level in systems engineering methods to test, analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to optimize SDA procedures to meet current and future program requirements and objectives within available resources.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret SCI clearance.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • This position is not eligible for telework.
  • PCS / Relocation Incentive funding is available.

  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
