US SENATE is Hiring a Director, IT Support Services #100 Near Washington, DC

Duties

Directs the ongoing, daily operations of the IT Support Services Department through the management of branch managers; directs operations and support of; Technology and Helpdesk Services, and Office Equipment and Capitol Exchange Services. Establishes general management policies and practices governing the deployment, installation, maintenance, and technical support to Senate offices; directs technology inventory efforts. Manages, directs, and supervises staff recruitment, training, and evaluation processes. Develops, implements, and monitors budgets and budget expenditures. Implements objectives and policies established by the Assistant Sergeant at Arms/Chief Information Officer; participates in the formulation and implementation of short- and long-range goals.

  • Establish and deepen relationships with Member Office staff.
  • Establish and deepen relationships with key support vendors.
  • Empower and develop leadership staff and monitor job performance.

Required Work Experience

  • Eight to ten years of experience in information technology management, with a strong emphasis on customer-oriented service delivery in an IT setting.
  • A proven track record in leading a responsive and customer focused IT service organization.

Required Special Skills/ Knowledge

  • Effective communicator, Strong organization, and computer skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and develop people.
  • Leadership in Customer Centric Environments: Proven experience in mentoring, developing, and motivating leaders and teams, especially in environments where customer service is paramount.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, focusing on delivering customer centric solutions to Senate office and committee staff, as well as internal leadership, staff, and contractors.
  • Contract Management with a Customer Focus: Proficient in managing IT services contracts, with an emphasis on maximizing performance, value, and customer satisfaction.
  • Complex Problem Solving with Clear Communication: Exceptional ability to assess and manage complex It related issues, with a commitment to communicate status and solutions clearly and concisely to both leadership and customers, ensuring a high level of customer service.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Systems Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
