As an Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software Developer, you will:
1. Collaborate with the software development team to create and verify solutions that align with the agency's mission and employee needs.
2. Perform various types of software testing such a Unit tests, Functional tests, Integration tests, End-to-End tests, Acceptance tests, Regression tests, Performance tests, Stress tests, Usability tests, and Security tests.
3. Design manual and automated tests that can be used to evaluate software from various angles, such as quality, speed, accuracy, and functionality.
4. Create and use these testing methods and scripts to evaluate software and record data that illustrates where fixes may be necessary.
5. Keep track of all testing stages and results.
6. Develop and execute automated test scripts across various technologies and product sets.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
8. Execute test scripts and analyze results. Participate in defect tracking and resolution.
9. Participate in defect tracking and resolution.
10. Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, identify areas where automation can improve quality. Design and build automation test frameworks. Create and maintain test cases, test data, test plans and defect reports. Work on both front-end and back-end testing. Verify, track, and fix bugs. Manage defects using tools like Azure DevOps, Jira.
