Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, is the FSS focal point for NAF, GSA and DLA acquired vehicles. Implements transportation policies procedures, and regulation as they relate to USAF/NAF owned/leased vehicles. Communicates with GSA and Logistics Readiness Squadron to manage assigned GSA vehicles; oversees vehicle training and licensing for military and civilian personnel. Maintains NAF Vehicle Management System (VMS), documents service transactions, to include; preventative maintenance, oil changes and safety inspections. Documents mileage and verifies maintenance transactions in GSA drive-thru management system. Processes and reviews funding documents and vehicle lease requirements. Reviews vehicle utilization records for compliance with mileage equalization policies. Analyzes findings and develops recommendations for corrections and improvements. Reports, tracks and documents vehicle misuses and abuse cases. Coordinate maintenance, repairs and modifications with local vendors. Collect/compile monthly, or as needed, safety briefing information and share with Squadron personnel. Prepares and reviews written and oral reports and takes action as necessary concerning such matters as vehicle utilization, turn-in, replacement, damage, loss, rotation between users, and accountability. Provides input for equipment use, maintenance, repair, modernization, replacement, safety, and security. Maintains records and files as they relate to vehicle maintenance and history.
Ensures correct receipt, storage, and delivery of all supplies and equipment. Assists with property accountability and annual inventories. Correctly disposes of excess property and assists with NAF property and on-line sales. Maintains monthly contact with DRMO to secure property to enhance services. Operate and maintain warehouse type equipment to include truck mounted snow plows, forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, banding equipment, power and air tools. Salvage and/or repair broken property items according to applicable directives and policies. Operates GOV on public highways as well as gravel roads and unimproved surfaces. Ensures physical safeguards, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained within Logistics operations. Complies with environmental directives pertaining to handling hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Maintains a government purchase card for the purpose of purchasing vehicle parts and supplies. Performs other duties as assigned.
